How do I know if counselling is right for me
You don’t need to be in crisis to come to counselling. If something feels heavy, confusing, or difficult to carry alone, counselling can offer a calm space to explore it. If you’re unsure, we can talk it through together.
What happens in the first session
Your first session is a gentle introduction. We’ll talk about what’s brought you here, what you’re hoping for, and what you need to feel safe and supported. There’s no pressure to share anything before you’re ready — we go at your pace.
Is everything confidential
Yes — what you share in counselling is confidential. There are a few rare exceptions where I may need to break confidentiality for safety reasons, and I’ll always explain these clearly.
Your privacy and trust are central to our work.
How long will I need counselling
There’s no set number of sessions.
Some people come for a short time to focus on something specific. Others choose longer‑term work to explore things more deeply.
We’ll review together so the pace always feels right for you.
How do I pay
Payment is made via Payment Link or bank transfer prior to each session.
Please see our Services page for latest rates and concessions
I’ll send you the details when we arrange your appointment.
Do I need to prepare anything before my session
Not at all.
You can simply come as you are. Some people like to bring a few thoughts or questions; others prefer to see what comes up naturally.
Both are completely okay.
What if I feel nervous
It’s very normal to feel nervous, especially at the beginning.
My role is to help you feel safe, grounded, and supported.
We’ll take things gently, and you’re welcome to share your worries about starting — they’re part of the process too
Can I stop counselling at any time
Yes. You’re in control of your journey.
If you decide you’d like to pause or end counselling, we’ll talk it through together so the ending feels thoughtful and grounded.
Do you offer in-person sessions
In person sessions can be arranged dependant on location.
