A Gentle, Steady Process
Beginning counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. The journey at The Inner Keep is calm, simple, and led by you. Here’s what it looks like.
1. Reaching Out
You’re welcome to contact me by email or phone — whichever feels easier. There’s no pressure or commitment. It’s simply the first step in opening a conversation.
If I am in a session and cannot answer the call, I will contact you as soon as possible.

2. A Calm, Friendly Conversation
I’ll reply as soon as I can, and we’ll have a gentle, informal chat about what’s bringing you to counselling and what you’re hoping for. This gives you a chance to ask any questions and explore if I am the right fit for your therapeutic journey.
You don’t need to have the “right words” — we can explore things together.

3. Booking Your First Session
If it feels right to go ahead, we’ll find a day and time that works for you. You can choose online or telephone sessions, depending on what feels most comfortable.
In person sessions coming soon....... feel free to ask for more details.

4. Your First Session
Your first session is a chance to settle in, get a feel for the space, and begin exploring what’s happening in your life.
There’s no rush and no expectation — you set the pace.

5. Ongoing Sessions
As we continue, we’ll explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a steady, supportive way. Sessions are 50 minutes, and you’re welcome to bring whatever feels important each week.

6. Reviewing Together
Every so often, we’ll pause and gently reflect on how things are going. This helps us make sure the work still feels right for you and supports your needs.

7. When You’re Ready to End
There’s no fixed number of sessions. When you feel ready to finish, we’ll plan an ending together so it feels thoughtful and grounded, giving space to reflect on your journey and what you’re taking forward.
